This is the most expensive DXpedition I have ever conducted. A complete budget has been done and it will cost over $14,000 due to the remoteness, equipment requirements as per the permit and the hire of a suitable vessel.
For those people who are kind enough to send in a donation of US $5 or more prior to the start of the DXpedition (by November 1st), then there is no need to request a QSL card as I will automatically send you a QSL directly if you are in the log.
I’m working with authorities to see when I can be on the air each as I am not able to be on the air 24 hours a day. I will use OC-198 VK5CE/8 DXpedition as a practice run to use the same bands and times of day to operate on the OC-198 DXpedition to see what conditions will be like a couple of weeks later for OC-216. So I understand some people may prefer to wait to see if they can get in the log and then send in sponsorship with their QSL request.
For JA operators that are not able to donate using the Pay Pal button, you can send your donation via Pay Pal directly to the email address firstname.lastname@example.org
