Mike AB5EB is a CW/SSB operator who has been involved with IOTA for over 25 years. He is the Vice President of IREF Island Radio Expedition Foundation and co-founder of the organisation. He has operated from many IOTA in North America, namely NA-197 AB5EB/KL0, NA-158 AB5EB/KL0, NA-209 NEW H75A, NA-168 AB5EB/P, NA-119 AB5EB/P & K5T, NA-143 AB5EB, NA-092 AB5EB/P, NA-089 AB5EB/P, NA-045 XF3/AB5EB, NA-013 H74C, NA-014 AB5EB/VE9, NA-044 VO2/AB5EB, NA-055, NA-246 XF2K, NA-094 CY9M, NA-120 N5M.
AD5A – Mike Crownover Sr
Mike, AD5A ex AB5EA, has been involved in activating and chasing IOTA islands since 1994. He has confirmed 1,065+ islands as a chaser and is the veteran of 15+ expeditions to 10 different IOTA islands. Mike was a member of the H75A team that activated NA-209 in Nicaragua for an all-time new one. His other expeditions range from VO2 to KL7 to YN and all along the Gulf of Mexico coast. Mike also co-founded the Island Radio Expedition Foundation (IREF) in 1999 and has served as President of the Foundation since that time. Mike is primarily a CW operator, but can be heard on SSB from time to time. His activations are: NA-197 AB5EA/KL0, NA-158 AB5EA/KL0 & AD5A/KL0, NA-209 NEW H75A, NA-168 AB5EA/P, NA-119 AB5EA/P, NA-143 AB5EB, NA-092 AD5A/P, NA-013 H74C, NA-044 VO2/AD5A, NA-120 N5M.
VK5CE – Craig Edwards
Craig VK5CE is the IOTA Checkpoint for Australia, Indonesia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Pacific islands. He is a passionate IOTA activator and chaser. Craig started IOTA DXpeditioning in 2010 and has been addicted to the adventure and excitement ever since. For most of the IOTA’s they have been one-man activations. In recent years he’s been lucky to be part of teams to put the NEW IOTAs of OC-294, AF-119 and OC-286 on the air. This has been a great chance to make new friendships and learn from other experienced operators. Craig will be operating on SSB during the DXpedition and he looks forward to giving you a new one.
